ahhh...may long weekend. not much going on personally, but outside - things they are a-changin'. trees are budding, grass is green, dirt is off of the streets, robins are everywhere right now (i just counted 5 looking out of my window) and blue skies are coming around again.
i like this time of year....lots of rain, tulips are coming up and i'm *this* close to being able to put my sweetpeas outside and leave them there for the summer.
new Martha Stewart is good times. i'm scheming a way that I can have flowers in my house without my cat scheming a way he can get to them and eat/destroy them. it's an ongoing battle; you should see the "wall" i've built to prevent him from getting on my fridge. it consists of a brown paper bag, penny jar and greeting card. he's also spotted my chive plant on top of my baker's rack. he knows he can get there via the top of the microwave...but those votive holders keep getting in the way. at least it just chives and they are cheap, plentiful and not poisonous. it's the dirt and, brace yourselves, the dirt barfs that come after that get to me.
am having company in a couple of days, so i'm going to get back to the deep cleaning. oh - you'll be proud of me: i'm weeding out my CD collection. i've gotten rid of about 9 boxes (this equals about 230 CDs). my friend and i are planning another yard sale for the end of summer, so this gives me a LOT of time to really downsize. the more i get rid of, the happier i am! once i'm through CDs it's on to the books and magazines.....wish me luck!
