April - you have been a slow month.
i got permanent at work on Thursday. this is a big deal for me as it means near-absolute job security and no chance of losing my job and being left high and dry. a big ol' *phew* was heard around the world. it was preceded by a "YES!". 2 years, 8 weeks, 4 days is a long time to go without knowing when your employment could end. especially at this stage in my life when you have to start thinking about pension. gah...adult crap.
the new Atmosphere deluxe edition showed up in my mailbox yesterday and it's freakin' awesome. from beginning to end it is easy and fun to listen to. more instrumental...he sings a bit...all around good/great album. the deluxe edition comes with a story and illustrations. see how many from the rhymesayers crew you can spot in the park illustration in the middle of the book.
new Martha Stewart Living arrived (finally). once again, lots of fun ideas. i totally know what i'm getting my mom for mama's day - i'll send her a cute bowl & spoon with some cereal and a note for her. new mama friends will enjoy peony bouquets because they are adorable and fun just like my friends. speaking of mama's, mine was in town this week, so sharing my job news was even more special.
i got my wool for the Endpaper Mitts (charcoal gray and cherry red) from The Loopy Ewe beginning of this week. this is my first fair isle project and so far, it's very frustrating. hopefully my wonderful and amazing little-sister-type-friend will show me a handy trick or two at our knitting night. aside from mass confusion, i love the wool and the service i received from Loopy Ewe. definitely going back for more.

Hello from your little-sister-type-friend. :) Sorry I didn't help you last night! I totally could have, I just read this now. Also sorry for keeping you out late on a work night. Isn't the new Martha great? I've been reading it at the library on my breaks. Congratulations about the job! I'm glad you could share the news with your moma!
