March 24/08

ahhh....one more day off, and then back to work. a four day weekend is kind of like a vacation. i like vacations.
my little peat pucks of flowery goodness are doing well. i can see the dahlia tubes sprouting through the soil, though nothing yet from the sweetpeas, black-eyed susans, basil or chives. soon, though....soon.
my decision to move has been finalized. before the end of summer, i will re-locate to a near-by city which is larger and doesn't suck my will to live as badly as this one does. Brandon has it's good point, but it has a lot of bad ones - especially for someone like me who needs a bit more culture and concerts. and an airport.
i've already planned my apartment decorating - living room will have one red wall (or maybe all red...we'll see), hallway will be kelly green, bathroom will be blue, dining room will be yellow and kitchen will be all white with red accents (pantry, art, inside of cupboards b/c the doors will be taken off) to compliment the herb garden and pepper plant i'll have in the windowsill. oh, did i mention i plan on living in an old character building? lord help me if i end up in another 70's boring pad again.
so....that means, get ready for a big yardsale! there is no way i'm moving 30 boxes of CDs, 4 boxes of books, 2 boxes of "knick-knacks" and 5 boxes of Christmas decorations. how i even ended up with 5 boxes of christmas decorations is beyond me....i don't put up decorations!
here's my new favourite print i would enjoy seeing in my new kitchen. it's from Keep Calm which i always enjoy perusing:

this would look perfect in my dream kitchen!

God, I love your taste - it scares me sometimes, what perfect housemates we'd be! A period place, with the kitties, lots of retro kitsch all around the place.. all the baking, knitting and pot plants you could possibly want.. why don't you live in the UK, damnit?! xoxo
