summer rain....

summer rain is my favourite combination of words. to me they are almost complete opposites, yet they fit perfectly together. summer invokes images of sunshine, families in the park, riding your bicycle down a hill and feeling the wind in your face. rain invokes images of cleansing, a shiva-like destroying/rebuilding process, it's gray, it cools. summer is green and rain is slate.

but a summer rain? it's perfect. it's like a moment to breathe. after a week of warm temperatures, it's a cool drink to cool down. summer rain is calming. it's refreshing. it's the worlds way of rebuilding - getting the earth to drink so for the following week, all of it's beautiful colours will be at their brightest and all of us, in turn, are re-energized.

this blog to me is like a summer rain. it's a place where i can put images and pieces of work that are refreshing, re-energizing, calming and inspiring.
